Meishi. Business cards: a ubiquitious tool and essential element for conducting business in Japan. For a Japanese business person, being caught without a supply of business cards is a breach of business etiquette and a social blunder.

Format
Formatting for the Japanese side of your business card can be done in either of two formats: Horizontal or vertical. The vertical format is considered the more conservative and traditional style. The horizontal format is somewhat of a newer development and is particularly popular with Japanese graphic designers because of the greater opportunity to inject creativity into card design. Today in Japan the division between horizontal and vertical is probably 50/50.

Chinese/Korean business card
If you need your business card in either Chinese or Korean, we can provide that also. For Chinese translations, please indicate whether you want the translation in traditional (for Hong Kong, Taiwan) or simplified (mainland China) format.

 

All business card orders include Japanese translation, phototypesetting and English typesetting. Standard turnaround time is 7-10 days on printed cards, 2-4 days on artwork only. Rush orders are subject to a surcharge.

We can also provide the Japanese as an EPS file. This allows you greater control over the overall design of the business card. Please call for more information.

All business cards are offset printed. Thermography is available upon request. Prices are based on black ink, printed with the Japanese on one side and the English on the other. Standard paper is Starwhite 120 lb.
